Initial assessment

If you are seeking support or therapy for your child, the initial appointment will last 1.5 hours and can be conducted online. At this appointment we will discuss the issues you are seeking help with, learn about the young person and about your family life and experiences. We will also talk about goals, hopes for the future and how we might work together to alleviate concerns. Parents/carers usually attend this appointment alone, depending on the young person’s age and the preference of the family.
 

At the end of the assessment, you will receive verbal feedback about our understanding of your concerns, recommendations for support, which might include referrals and signposting to local services or a treatment plan.

If The Child Psychology Hub can offer the required therapeutic input, then you will be provided details of this. You can decide after this session whether you wish to proceed with further support.

Lasts 1.5 hours including verbal feedback of recommendations and treatment plan. Online via video call or face to face.

If you require a summary letter or report following the appointment this will be at additional cost.
